Systems Thinking for Social Change

Systems thinking is a way of seeing and talking about complex problems. It is a framework for evaluating connections, interrelationships and patterns. Systems thinking demands a deeper understanding of the behaviour of systems and acknowledges the relationship between interacting components. Effective social and environmental innovation requires systems thinking when addressing complex challenges. When looking to shift the results of a complex system, one needs to consider what is happening within that system, what is already being tried, and how future efforts might contribute to ongoing change.
